A message from our Founder
My name is Ryan Chapman, founder of Yellow Dove Australia, and I am committed to building stronger communities through education, wellbeing, health, and sustainable practices. I created the foundation in response to a lack of accessible and connected services, driven by a belief in real human connection, not just meeting KPIs.
My journey into community work has been shaped by a strong background in education, inclusive practice, and a deep commitment to social equity. I hold a Master’s in Inclusive Education, focusing on community connection and capacity, as well as a Counselling degree, which ensures that the programs and initiatives we deliver at Yellow Dove Australia genuinely support communities while empowering them to thrive.
Through years of working alongside children, families, and marginalised communities, I’ve seen firsthand how often people fall through the gaps, particularly when support systems are fragmented, inaccessible, or driven more by targets than by people.
It was this experience that led me to establish Yellow Dove Australia. I saw a clear need for an organisation that could offer connected, human-centred support across education, wellbeing, health, and sustainability. Too often, individuals and families are expected to navigate complex systems alone. Yellow Dove was created to do things differently, by meeting people where they are and walking alongside them with care, respect, and genuine connection.
Drawing on my education, counselling experience, and community partnerships, Yellow Dove delivers practical, inclusive programs that strengthen individuals and communities. From drowning prevention and wellbeing initiatives to health education and community-led projects, our work is grounded in collaboration, cultural safety, and long-term impact, aiming to build trust, confidence, and belonging.
At the heart of Yellow Dove Australia is a belief in real human connection and humanitarianism. Meaningful change doesn’t come from ticking boxes or meeting KPIs, it comes from listening, showing up consistently, and creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported. I am proud to work alongside passionate educators, community leaders, and partners who share this vision and inspire the work we do every day.
